Im dilated did walking and sex work for you?

Just got home from doctor appt. and i am 1cm dilated but my cervix is still thick. My doc said it was safe to start walking and having sex to make me dilate quicker. I will be 37 weeks on friday. My question is did walking and sex actually work for you? And if so how much walking and sex? My boyfriend and i haven't had sex in about 2months so i dk if that makes a difference or not. just curious thanks a bunch !!

It never put me into labor, but it did help my cervix continue to change in preparation for labor. NOTHING works if your body just isn't ready. Both of those things will help get the cervix ready though if nothing else. Walk as much as you can and have sex as often as is comfortable. Also try sitting on one of those exercise balls and swiveling your hips. It helps to open your pelvis and encourages the baby to drop.
