what is up with my girlfriend and sex?

Why is it that whenever my girlfriend wants to have sex and I don't, she gets mad and we end up doing it anyway but when I want to have sex and she doesn't, she gets mad if I show that I'm annoyed by it and we end up not doing it. It's not that I'm a pushover and do what she says, it's just that when she wants to do it, I'll do it with her even if I don't want to because I respect her wishes. Is this fair?
